Oikos Storage

The facility is the only independently owned bulk liquid import and storage terminal in the UK which has access to the deep-water navigable channel of the River Thames, links to the national strategic road network and connections to the UK’s key fuel pipeline networks.

Winnington CHP, a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals Europe (TCE) has the capacity to generate 400 MWth of heat and 96MWe of electricity. The production of soda ash, sodium bicarbonate (bicarb) and salt are energy intensive activities, requiring both heat and electricity provided from the CHP plant.
