Linewatch exists to provide awareness of the hazards associated with working in close proximity to high pressure pipelines. Our main objective is to highlight how to identify pipelines both in the planning stages of a job and when out on-site. This is to ensure the correct contacts are made and safe working procedures followed to prevent injury to persons or damage to the pipeline and the environment.
The overall activities include:
• Raising awareness of safe working practices around high pressure pipelines
• Production of standard guidelines for work near pipelines
• Production of standard Linewatch presentations
• Sharing of standard education related documentation and literature
• Maintain links with Linesearchbeforeudig (LSBUD) - www.linesearchbeforeudig.co.uk - for all prospective works
• Represent member operators at industry exhibitions and trade shows
• Compilation of data and reporting on activities within the pipeline zone of interest
• Sharing information on third party incidents and near misses
