New fencing safety video

Across the UK there are thousands of miles of underground cables and pipelines, including our own members networks.

For those doing the digging, hitting one can result in serious injury or even death. For us as asset owners it can cause business disruption, thousands of hours spent on maintenance, and of course a huge cost.

You might remember last year, a viral video going around showing a fencing contractor striking a medium-pressure pipeline, and the ground exploding beneath him. Luckily, he came out unscathed and is now working with LSBUD and Linewatch to spread awareness of the dangers of digging 'blind'.
